Neurodivergent-affirming support for parents, families and adults
Because you don’t need to be fixed. You need understanding and support that actually fits.
If you’re exhausted from trying to function in systems that weren’t built with your brain, your family, or your nervous system in mind, you’re not alone.
You might be:
A parent feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure you’re “doing it right”
A neurodivergent adult noticing patterns of burnout, shame, or over-functioning
A professional trying to care deeply without burning out
Someone wondering why life and relationships feel harder than they seem to be for others
Here, we slow things down. We make sense of what’s really going on.
And we find ways forward that work for you — not against you.
I don’t “fix” people. I help them see themselves clearly — and that changes everything.
I’m Clare, a clinical nurse specialist and neurodivergent parent who’s spent 25+ years supporting families and individuals through complex challenges.
My approach combines trauma-informed care, systemic practice, and neurodivergence-affirming coaching, all delivered with honesty, humour, and a refusal to pathologize.
This work isn’t about fixing you; it’s about uncovering what already makes you whole.

FAQS
Common questions, answered
If you’re wondering…
-
Focus & Purpose
Coaching
Future-focused
Goal-orientated: improving habits, confidence, performance, or specific life/work challenges
Helps you build skills, insight, and strategies
Works from the assumption that you’re already mentally well, but want support to function at your best
Therapy
Past and present-focused
Aims to reduce distress, improve emotional health, and address mental health issues
Helps you understand and heal patterns, trauma, or psychological difficulties
-
Yes, you can work with me if you’re in burnout or emotionally distressed… but only within certain boundaries.
Coaching can be helpful alongside emotional strain or burnout, but it is not a substitute for therapy or clinical mental-health support.
The key is understanding what type of distress is appropriate for coaching and what would be safer in therapy.
-
Coaching can still be useful if you are:
Burned out from work demands (e.g., fatigue, overwhelm, loss of motivation)
Emotionally stressed, but generally coping day-to-day
Wanting practical support like routines, boundaries, organisation strategies, emotional load management, or navigating workplace pressures.
Looking for a thinking partner to help you restore clarity, rebuild confidence, or make decisions.
Facing neurodivergent burnout and want help understanding your energy patterns, masking, sensory overload, or pacing.
In these cases, I can help you:
Prevent deeper burnout
Find sustainable habits
Rebalance workload
Reduce overwhelm
Improve wellbeing
Explore strengths and needs
Advocate for yourself
Many people seek coaching because they’re burned out.
-
Coaching is not suitable if you are:
In severe emotional distress (e.g., unable to function, significant hopelessness, crisis, or major withdrawal)
Experiencing symptoms that suggest a mental-health condition needs active treatment like severe anxiety, depression, self-harm thoughts, or trauma reactivation.
Needing to process trauma, grief, or unresolved emotional wounds This requires a trained therapist or mental health professional.
In crisis or unsafe Coaches are not trained or permitted to provide clinical care.
In these instances, I would redirect you towards more appropriate services and support.
-
Coaching
Collaborative, future-driven partnership
Often feels like working with a mentor or thinking partner
Therapy
A clinical relationship with boundaries designed for emotional safety
Often involves deeper exploration and vulnerability
-
Coaching may be especially helpful if you:
Feel overwhelmed or overstretched
Struggle to do things you know you’re capable of
Want to understand yourself better
Have goals but get stuck in the middle
Feel misunderstood at work
Want strength-based support, not clinical intervention
